A New Zealander has become the latest shearer to set world records on both sides of the Tasman.
Aidan Copp - from Canterbury but now based in Australia - shore 524 merino lambs in eight hours on Saturday, breaking a 14-year-old record by five lambs.
That was despite a cut to the 34-year-old's hand, which brought the attempt to a brief stop.
The shear-off took place in at a Gnadbro property in the Riverina, a farming region in the southwest of New South Wales.
The previous record was 519, set by Dwayne Black in West Australia in 2005.

Copp was already in the record books as one of five shearers who set a five-stand strongwool lambs record set in the King Country in 2015.
On August 24, English shearers Jonny Roberts and Martin Howlett will tackle the two-stand, eight-hour strongwool ewes record of 1068 set by New Zealand shearers Coel L'Huillier and Kelvin Walker near Benneydale in January 2017.
