Lamb prices remain strong, while calf sales are in full swing across the country, says a rural market expert.
Head of Livestock for Heartland Bank, Wayne McEntee told Rural Exchange that the $9 kilo for lamb in the market was keeping processors honest
"It's somewhere for farmers to have discussions with their agents, so that's got to be a good thing."
He said ewes were fetching good prices while the calf sales were in full swing.
"In this week's Waikato sale, there were 1400 plus, ranging in price from $290 to $380.
