While there may be concern over the sale of farmland to forestry developers, one rural property expert says it should be kept in perspective.
Bayleys Real Estate Gisborne rural specialist Simon Bousfield, told Rural Today's Dominic George that out of 20 farm sales in the Gisborne/Wairoa region in the past 12 months, five had gone to forestry.
"I think there is a lot of hype out there, and the perception that more land is going to forestry than there is," he said.
