A person is dead after a workplace accident on a rural property in Napier.
Police said emergency services were called to the property in Meeanee at around 4.15 on Thursday afternoon.

They confirmed one person had died in what was described as a workplace accident.
Meeanee is well-known for its fruit and vegetable production, with a number of large horticultural blocks.
A spokesperson for power company Unison earlier confirmed to Stuff that they had de-energised the lines after receiving reports of a person receiving an electric shock.
Police said Worksafe and the Coroner had been advised of death.
