Optimism from beef and lamb leader over sector plan for emissions

The chairman of the group representing sheep and beef farmers says the decision by the Government to allow a sector-led plan for emissions management means real progress can be made.

Chairman of Beef and Lamb New Zealand, Andrew Morrison told Rural Exchange that it was the best way forward.

"It's not about winning or losing, it's about getting pragmatic solutions that are going to deliver the results," he said.

"This  gives us the tools and ability we need to actually deliver the results as opposed to a levy based process."
