Sam Waugh on managing the Young Farmers' Donald Pearson Farm

Sam Waugh took over the role of farm manager at the Young Farmers’ Donald Pearson Farm last month.

The 74-hectare south Auckland farm was bequeathed by the late Donald Pearson to help encourage and educate people about farming and the agricultural sector.

"We're in the process now of fulfilling his wishes around the use of the farm," Waugh told Rural Exchange.

"There's definitely a lot to do, so not a lot of time for downtime, but it's a pretty exciting opportunity, and something a bit different as well from your standard dairy farm."
