Trade numbers down in store cattle market

There's been a lower number of store cattle trades recently, says Wayne McEntee, Heartland Bank's head of livestock.

"Everyone at the present is just trying to stay dry and hunkering away from the mud so in terms of the numbers, the store market probably [has] small numbers traded," McEntee told Rural Exchange.

"[There's] a little more interest in forward cattle - so cattle that will be finished quicker - and lighter cattle is slightly discounted because they're that longer-term article."
