How remote monitoring systems can take 'a little bit of the labour' out of farming

Today, technology plays a greater role in farming than ever.

One kind of technology being used more and more by farmers is remote monitoring systems.

Kevin Hirst, of Loncel Technologies, says the use of such systems allows those in the agriculture sector to improve their operating efficiencies and reduce costs.

Hirst says using remote systems linked to cell phones or laptops to control irrigation or water monitoring systems can make things easier for everyone involved.

"It takes a little bit of the labour out of it and we don't need the paperwork so much," Hirst told Rural Exchange.
