A cow has died after being hit by a car near Taupō.
A car crashed into the animal at the intersection of Scoria Rd and Poihipi Road, Nukuhau, about 8:40pm on Wednesday, a police spokesperson said.
"No one was injured but the cow had died and was blocking the southbound lane on Poihipi Road."
The road was cleared a short time afterwards.
