Five people have been taken to hospital after an incident at a fertiliser supplier in Dunedin.

The workers from fertiliser company Ravensdown will be assessed for suspected sulphur dioxide inhalation, a spokesperson for Fire and Emergency New Zealand told Newshub.

One person is in a moderate condition and four others are being treated with minor conditions.

They were all taken to Dunedin Hospital by ambulance.
