The victim who died in a tractor incident in Earnscleugh, near Alexandra on Friday has been named.
He was James Henry Linwood, 66, of Alexandra.
"Police extend their sympathies to his family and friends," a police spokesperson said on Tuesday.
According to the Otago Daily Times, Linwood died after the tractor he was driving while spraying vines rolled on a vineyard.
His death has been referred to the coroner.
