A person has died in a workplace accident near the West Coast settlement of Harihari.
Emergency services were called to an address on the Whataroa Highway (State Highway 6) at 2:30pm.
"WorkSafe is being notified and enquiries are underway into the circumstances of the incident," a police spokesman told Newshub.
The person was killed after a tree fell on the digger they were operating, Stuff reported.
