Most of us will rent at some time in our lives. Fifty-one percent of New Zealanders over the age of 15 now live in a rented house, and that number continues to rise.
Some are on the other side of the equation as landlords and property owners, and knowing your rights is vital no matter which camp you fall in.

"I don't think people know all their rental rights. Tenants are not just young students; they can be anybody. With so many people investing in property, the whole scene has completely changed."
