Hamilton's population is growing fast - in fact it's one of the fastest growing places in the country.
Currently the city gains around 57 people a week, some of whom are Aucklanders - who make up about 30 percent of attendance at open homes.
So is Hamilton the new Auckland?
Hamilton mayor Julie Hardaker joined Paul Henry this morning and says Hamilton is great for families.
"I think we are fond of the Tron and we have always pitched ourselves as being a city of the future, and it looks like that's where we are going to be. I think it’s great that we are growing, especially with families and young people."
