A classic potato-top pie from New World in Greenmeadows, Napier, took home the big prize at the New Zealand Supreme Pie Awards last night.
It was described by the judges as a perfect ratio between a flavoursome filling, a super creamy potato top and a delicious pastry shell.
Owner of the New World Iain Beaton this morning joined Paul Henry, where he explained how this is only the second time they've entered the competition.
"It's only really dawning on us now how big this is to win it," says Mr Beaton.
