In 2013, the number of women having babies in their 30s outnumbered the number of women having babies in their 20s for the first time.

The average age of starting a mortgage is now 34, and the average age to get married is now 30.

Careers expert Laurel McLay joined Paul Henry in studio to explain why your 30s are the time to settle down and how to do that.

She says the average age to start grooming employees to become chief executives is 30, and if you haven't become chief executive by the time you're 35, you may have missed the boat.
