The Maori King has launched a claim for much of Auckland. The claim would include land from Warkworth down to Piha.
It comes despite other iwi having pre-existing claims in the region.
The King made the announcement on Friday and, despite controversy over the weekend, the King's spokesperson is sticking by its validity.
