New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) gets underway at lunchtime today when the first of the models will hit the catwalk at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.
NZFW is in its 15th year, mainly thanks to the initiative and hard work of Dame Pieter Stewart.
The former model and fashion week founder didn't plan her pathway, and says it is all a result of serendipity.
She talks to Paul Henry about the hardships of the fashion industry, and how she wants to set up a fashion council to support the industry.
There will be 45 different shows over six days.
