The country's smallest dairy co-operative is forecasting a payout that is more than $2 higher than Fonterra's.
Waikato co-operative Tatua expects to pay its 114 farmers $6.00 per kilogram of milk solids. That is over $2 higher than Fonterra's forecast of $3.85.
It makes high margin value-added products. It does not produce whole milk powder, cheese or butter.
But is it fair to compare Tatua to Fonterra?
