Many people aged over 50 have not done a lot to plan for their retirement.

A new survey has found that 46 percent of the over-50s don't have a plan to secure the lifestyle they want when they finish working.

Even among the 54 percent who have done some planning there are wide differences. Only 25 percent of the people surveyed say they have a thorough plan.

The survey was carried out for the Commission For Financial Capability and the Financial Markets Authority.
