Auckland City Mission helps thousands of people living in poverty every year.
Since joining the organisation in 1993, Diane Robertson has been a guardian angel for those in need.
Now, after 22 years, Diane has decided it is time to take on a new challenge.
"It's become a very big organisation… I spent a lot of my time on administration and staffing, and I don't actually get the time to do the projects that I'm really passionate about," she says. "By giving the helm to somebody else I can go off and do some different projects."
She says one of her colleague died very suddenly this year due to a brain tumour, prompting her to realise "life is very short, you might need to do something different".
