Hillary Clinton has increased her lead over Bernie Sanders by 7 percent in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Ms Clinton is at 49 percent, Mr Sanders is on 29, and current vice-President Joe Biden, who hasn't decided whether he will run, is at just 15 percent.
Support for Donald Trump is still high. He leads the Republican race, though is closely followed by Ben Carson.
US correspondent Sandy Hughes says both candidates are way ahead of any others who might be in the race.
"There was a poll taken that shows that 69 percent of Republicans are excited about these candidates and they're excited about the election," she told the Paul Henry programme this morning.
