A young Kiwi dancer has been hand-selected by Jennifer Lopez to be one of her seven male backup dancers.
Michael Metuakore, who was born and bred in Tokoroa, says the audition process was nerve racking.
"There were 300 others auditioning. There were two days of auditions. She (Lopez) would line us up with our shirts off."
He heads to Las Vegas next year for the show's three-year run performing at Planet Hollywood.
"I'm over the moon, I'm so happy. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a dancer," Metuakore told Paul Henry.
The 24-year-old is already thinking about his post-Las Vegas career.
"The next thing is to book a world tour with an artist."
Michael also featured in the Kiwi flick Born to Dance.
The dancer has set up a Givealittle page to help pay for his visa, which will cost around $10,000.
