Sole mate or sole destroying?

Shoes that aren't made for walking? Yes, you read that right. But it's not what you would expect to hear when buying a new pair of shoes.

We all have a favourite pair of shoes whether they are boots, heels or slip-ons but often, the soles wear out faster than you expect.

Shoes aren't what they used to be and now they need to be re-soled before wearing or grip pads need to be put on because they are too slippery to walk in.

Is this reasonable? Story investigated why these shoes are being sold if not for walking or commuting.
