More than three days on from the terror attacks in Paris, the French Prime Minister can't pretend that people are safe now.

And as such, the New Zealand Government's advice to Kiwis who are thinking of travelling to the city anytime soon is to cancel unless the visit is essential.

It sounds terribly dramatic – and it is – but one Kiwi living in Paris is determined to show another side to the story.

Ainsley Duyvestyn-Smith is a photographer who has been out with people as they gathered to remember the victims of the attacks.

She's been looking for the beauty in the response to what was such an act of barbarity.
