We have seen the horror of terrorist attacks unfolding in Paris, London and beyond.

In fact, all of the countries in the Five Eyes alliance have been hit, except New Zealand.

Whether you like it or not, we are a player in the war against terror.

The Prime Minister has told us around 40 people living in New Zealand are on a watch list and suspected of trying to raise money for Islamic State.

Some are even trying to go to Syria, but would they ever attack New Zealand?

Nineteen-year-old Muhammad Whaanga knows some of these people. Story spoke to him exclusively, and he says yes they would.
