WineFriend’s chief tasting officer Yvonne Lorkin joined Paul Henry to dish out her top tips for choosing a Valentine’s Day wine.

Her sure fire, never fail Valentines date wine is Rockburn Stolen Kiss Rose.

Her choice for the best ever wine with chocolate is Chocolate Box Sparkling Shiraz.

Ms Lorkin also gave us some tips on how to avoid ruining a good wine.

She says getting the wine to the right temperature is essential.

Kiwis tend to over-chill white wine, which doesn’t need to be in the fridge for days, an hour will do the job.

She says in New Zealand red wine is often served too warm. You should keep it somewhere cool and dark or just pop it in the fridge for half an hour.
