They say bad luck comes in threes and for smokers in Wellington that old adage came true today.
It's World Smokefree Day and the price of cigarettes will eventually increase to $30 a packet, plain packaging is on its way in and the Wellington Council banned smoking in many new places.
Bus stops, Council houses and some parks are now smokefree and the Council wants citizens to police it.
But will it work? With more than half a million Kiwis smoking every day, can people work together to discourage smoking in these areas?
