Businessman Michael Horton has taken out an advert to highlight the struggles Kiwis have to get Australian citizenship.
A former proprietor of the NZ Herald, Horton put the advert headlined "Australia & New Zealand - a world apart" in The Listener, which lists numerous countries whose citizens can apply for Australian citizenship.
Below that it says: "Countries whose citizens can no longer apply for Australian citizenship, unless applicants have been permanent residents of Australia prior to 26 February 2001."
New Zealand is the only country listed in that category.
Mr Horton joined Paul Henry this morning.
