The Government has unveiled a $20billion Defence plan which includes a new cyber security system for Defence networks.
The Defence White Paper lays out the strategy and direction for the next 15 years, and for the first time it has confirmed New Zealand is capable of launching its own cyber-attacks to deter cyber-terrorism.
NZ First Defence spokesperson Ron Mark told Paul Henry the Government is continuing to underspend on our defence.
"This fails to give us confidence in our defence force or personnel. Our expenditure is super low compared to other countries."
