The man who killed 49 people in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Flordia and injured dozens more, did so with a legally purchased assault rifle and pistol -- despite being on the FBI's watchlist.

According to the National Rifle Association, under Florida law, anyone can buy a long gun such as the AR‐15 or handgun without a license, although a license is required to conceal‐carry a handgun.

ISIS's Amaq news agency said the terror group was responsible for the shooting and says Mateen was one of its fighters. During the attack, Mateen also referenced the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. But US President Barack Obama has called it a homegrown terror act, not part of a wider plot.

CBS Correspondent Kenneth Craig joined Paul Henry from Orlando with the latest.
