A new P epidemic?

There are fears New Zealand could be spiralling towards its second methamphetamine epidemic.

Two senior Black Power members told Newshub - exclusively - huge supply means the drug is getting cheaper.

A cabinet report reveals the drug is now easier to get, and meth seizures are at record levels.

Tests also show the purity of meth in New Zealand is extremely high - an average of 73 percent. The maximum is  around 80 percent.

Executive Director of the New Zealand Drug Foundation, Ross Bell, isn't convinced that it's at the stage of being an 'epidemic'.

He joined Mark Sainsbury, filling in for Paul Henry.
