Today the Antarctic Heritage Trust embarks on a journey of its own; to help raise a million dollars to save Sir Edmund Hillary's hut in Antarctica.
They've just left from Piha on a 2012 kilometre tractor journey to fundraise and help repair what is now a building that has a leaky roof, asbestos, and signs of damage and corrosion.
Newshub's very own Hamish Clark has been to the hut three times and spoke to Paul Henry this morning.
