Labour wants state of emergency declared on housing

Labour wants a state of emergency declared over the housing crisis, as the average Auckland price hits $1 million, while the number of those living on the streets is growing.

Labour's housing spokesperson Phil Twyford said just as in a natural disaster, declaring a state of emergency would galvanise resources and the political will to fix the problem.

He joined Mark Sainsbury, filling in for Paul Henry, on Monday.
