The Government's confirmed it will foot the bill for half Auckland's multibillion-dollar City Rail Link.
It signed a deal on Wednesday with Auckland Council.
The price tag on Auckland's underground rail link has increased to between $2.8 and $3.4 billion, up from a previous forecast of $2.5 billion.
