International anti-slavery day

Destiny Rescue is an international organisation dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

It's estimated that right now there are up to 27 million men, women and children enslaved around the world with no way out.

In the past five years, Destiny Rescue has saved nearly 1800 children.

Currently they have more than 800 children in their aftercare program, where those who've been rescued work with a team of experts to get their lives back on track.

The agency says it's prevented hundreds more people from entering the sex trade.

Destiny Rescue is holding a pop-up dinner to fundraise and gain support for their work overseas.

One of their rescuers, JD Fletcher, joined Paul Henry this morning.
