Tax cuts on the horizon?

Finance Minister Bill English has delivered a plump budget surplus of $1.8 billion, so does this mean tax cuts are on the horizon?

Treasury on Thursday reported a surprisingly strong surplus of $1.8 billion for the year to June, boosted by a surge in taxes from a growing economy and high immigration.

Prime Minister John Key spoke to Paul Henry this morning to discuss this, and how the Labour Party has pledged to increase police numbers by 1000 during its first term if elected to Government.
