What is helicopter parenting and why is it bad?

The term 'Helicopter parenting' was coined in the nineties to describe parents who "hover" near their kids watching their every move. 

And while they think they're doing their best by sticking so close…  chances are they're actually doing more harm than good. 

Parenting expert Vanessa Baxter spoke to Duncan Garner.
