Living wage 101 - here's what you need to know

New Zealand has nearly 80 living wage employers and that number is growing with councils and corporations alike adopting the idea. 

The living wage currently sits at $20.20 an hour, which is considered enough to "pay for the necessities of life and participate as an active citizen in the community".

What you might not know is that the living wage started with Alan Freeman in London in 2001 and he spoke to Duncan Garner.
