An event at Whanganui High School with boxing champion Joseph Parker has left parents outraged, after reports of racism and sexism. The motivational speaking session would be for Māori and Pasifika students and their dads only.
Parker has come out saying he did not know it was an exclusive event and that he was "really disappointed". He is considering cancelling the event.
Is it OK for Whanganui High School to hold a motivational session with Joseph Parker - exclusively for Māori and Pasifika boys and their dads?
