The internet debates Serena Williams: Hero or villain?

Serena Williams is facing both praise and backlash after her meltdown during the women's singles final at the US open. 

Naomi Osaka became the first Japanese person to ever win a grand slam but her win was overshadowed by Williams calling out the umpire for being a 'liar' and a 'theif'.

Some were quick to defend Serena's behaviour, agreeing the umpire was being sexist for taking offence to her abuse. However, most of New Zealand agreed, it was poor sportsmanship at its worst.
