Sixty years service in the RNZAF

It was 1959 when Ian Hingston turned up for his first day on his new job at the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Walter Nash was our PM, Eisenhower was President of the United States, and the Cold War was raging.

He spent 18 months training for the gig - a gig that would become his life's work, at an organisation he would devote most of his life to.

Deservedly, Ian retires this month.

He spoke to The AM Show.
