Timaru, Whanganui, Blenheim, Masterton and Levin to start taking refugees

New Zealand is bringing in more refugees, and it has benefits for both parties.

Five new towns have been approved for resettlement - Timaru, Whanganui, Blenheim, Masterton and Levin.

A sixth is on the way.

We all know the primary reason for welcoming refugees is humanitarian but the research shows that there are economic and social benefits to accepting refugees as well.

New Zealand Red Cross migration general manager Rachel O'Connor spoke to The AM Show about it.
