Expert says NZ Super Fund should divest shares in oil and gas

Greenpeace has asked the New Zealand Super Fund to divest its $550m shares in oil and gas companies over the world and focus on renewable energy.

Only 1.4 per cent of the fund is made up of these companies.

Simplicity founder Sam Stubbs told The AM Show fossils fuels have become a bad investment. 

He adds there are billions of dollars of oil in the ground being given a value, but may never come out of the ground.

He spoke to Duncan Garner on The AM Show.
