Police pursue ten cars every day in New Zealand and in the last ten years there have been 4606 fleeing driver crashes.
Of those, 67 have been fatal and nearly four hundred have caused injury.
A report into the police policy is due out at lunchtime today and will look into the effectiveness of police pursuits.
This is the first joint effort by the ICPA and police into pursuits which have been on the rise since 2014.
