Social media giant Facebook has come under scrutiny in the wake of the attacks on two Christchurch mosques last Friday, after the alleged gunman livestreamed his attack there.

The video then circulated around the internet and has been viewed more than a million times.

Kiwi advertisers have since pulled out of advertising with the platform to put pressure on it to regulate its livestreaming services.

Facebook has remained silent in the eleven days since the attack.
