When filmmaker Lisa Taouma discovered the origins of tattooing in the Pacific came from women, she knew this was worth sharing with the world.
The new film Marks of Mana follows the origins and modern-day journeys of female tatau - the Pacific word for tattoo.
It's already won a major award in Canada, and is now gracing New Zealand screens this week for a documentary film festival.
