He lived a troubled life as a drug addict who killed his dealer after an attempted sexual assault.
Paul Wood spent 11 years in prison where he managed to educate himself behind bars.
He was the first person in New Zealand history to get an undergrad and then masters degree in prison - the first to begin a doctorate while behind bars.
Now he's summed up his life in a book "How to Escape From Prison".
