From homelessness to helping others get off the streets

New Zealand, we have a problem. Nearly 40,000  of us are homeless.

That's one per cent of the population sleeping rough.

Combating homelessness is one of our biggest challenges and two people are tackling it head-on.

Rob Smith and Awatea Hawke used to be homeless themselves, until they found a reason to change their lives, and help others.
