Grant Robertson dinner auction raises money for cancer

A Wellington teen going through cancer treatment has organised a fundraising dinner with Finance Minister Grant Robertson to raise funds for Koru Care.

James Isa was diagnosed over Christmas with cancer and it has been a roller coaster road since then. Despite the chemotherapy and other complications, James came up with the idea of a fundraising dinner to help Koru Care.

The winner of the auction will get a dinner for two with Robertson at Parliament's Bellamys by Logan Brown.

He says Robertson, James' local MP, had no hesitation at all in agreeing to the dinner.

"I don't really have a goal set for how much I'd like to raise - just as much as the generous people of New Zealand are happy to give."

The auction is taking place on Trade Me, and currently the highest bid is $2010.
